This complex anterior aesthetic restoration was completed through seamless multidisciplinary collaboration at Chengdu Anyu Dental Implant Hospital by Dr. Teng Lizhao (Acting Executive President & Chief Surgeon), Dr. Zhang Huihui (Director of Aesthetic Dentistry), and Dr. Wang Yuanjing (Aesthetic Prosthodontist).

The patient presented with a long-missing maxillary front tooth (incisor). Prolonged tooth loss had resulted in an unusually wide gap compared to the natural adjacent incisor, compounded by a tight occlusal bite. Seeking an immediate functional and aesthetic solution without enduring a visible missing tooth gap, the patient requested same-day implant placement and temporary crown fitting. To address both the bone defect and the severe size asymmetry between the front teeth, our clinical team designed a three-stage, multidisciplinary treatment protocol combining immediate implant placement, gingival profile shaping, and micro-veneer aesthetic integration.

Stage 1: Same-Day Immediate Placement & Provisionalization (Dr. Teng Lizhao)

To withstand tight biting forces and achieve high primary stability, Dr. Teng selected the high-performance Straumann® BLX implant system for immediate placement into the socket. A custom temporary crown was fabricated and fitted on the same day. This restored immediate baseline aesthetics and social confidence while strictly protecting the implant from heavy masticatory loads during healing.

Stage 2: Gingival Profile Shaping for Pink Aesthetics (Dr. Wang Yuanjing)

After a 4-month osseointegration period, Dr. Wang performed customized gingival contouring. Through iterative provisional crown adjustments, the soft-tissue margin was guided to mirror the natural emergence profile of the adjacent tooth, establishing healthy, pale-pink gingival architecture and a natural emergence profile ("Pink Aesthetics").

Stage 3: Implant Crown & Micro-Veneer Combined Restorations (Dr. Zhang Huihui)

Because the missing tooth gap was structurally wider than the natural opposite incisor, placing a single implant crown alone would have left noticeable visual asymmetry. Dr. Zhang performed minimal-prep micro-veneer preparation on the adjacent natural incisor. Fitting the custom implant crown and porcelain veneer simultaneously closed the median gap, perfectly balanced the tooth proportions, and achieved complete bilateral smile symmetry ("White Aesthetics").

The collaborative approach successfully harmonized both the soft-tissue contours and hard-tissue proportions. Follow-up evaluations confirmed excellent bone stability, a firm peri-implant soft-tissue seal, and a natural, invisible blend between the implant crown and porcelain veneer. The patient expressed total satisfaction with the immediate comfort and symmetrical smile transformation.
